50th Wedding Anniversary Fake Cake

I don't know what I was thinking. I had a little over a week to plan the center pieces and make a fake cake. I told my sister I was making a fake cake and she just didn't understand my vision. She already had a dessert planned for the event. So I've always wanted to make one and thought it can't be that difficult. What I had a difficult time with was the color gold. Gold is the color for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. Maybe it's because of all the gold in the 80's, it's just not a color I like. I mainly did the cake in black and white with a touch of gold. I took three small boxes and stacked them without the lids. Then I just started playing with paper. I think I would change a few things but overall I think Martha would be proud. I think your cake turned out beautiful. Loved the idea of a cut out picture of the bride and groom as the topper. Very creative and sweet.
